If you place the box in a well‑ventilated, cool, dark area, away from damp spots and direct sunlight, you can store rice in it comfortably throughout the year. 

When the rice becomes low, avoid simply topping it up; empty and replace it entirely. At that time, wipe the inside with a well‑wrung cloth, allow it to dry completely, and only then add fresh rice.
