- A compact porcelain juicer made in Hasami, an area known for its exceptional porcelain
- Designed for everyday use with citrus fruits
Its small body is easy to hold in one hand, simple to store, and also works well as a small spouted server at the table for ponzu or sauces.
The cone is shaped to extract juice efficiently from halved citrus, with sharp grooves that guide the juice while seeds are held back on the upper dish. A cleanly formed spout allows juice or sauce to pour smoothly with minimal drips, so it can move straight from kitchen to table.
Materials and making : Made from Amakusa porcelain stone with a limestone glaze, fired in Shiratake Kiln in Hasami, Nagasaki. The prototype was created by Tetsuro Kaneko in Arita, and the product is designed by Osamu Saruyama.
The fine, slightly translucent white porcelain suits both Japanese and Western tables, and reflects Azmaya’s focus on quietly functional tools for everyday life.
Sizes and variations : One model is ideal for lemons and similarly sized citrus fruits. The other, for larger fruit size or volume of juice
