Genmaicha is a type of brown rice tea, a mixture of tea stems and leaves with roasted puffed brown rice. The sugar and starch from the rice give this tea a warm, full, and nutty flavor. It is considered easy to drink, and to calm the stomach. The flavor is mild and it combines also the fresh grassy taste of green tea with the unique aroma of the roasted rice.
How to prepare:
Although this tea is based on green tea, the recommended way to brew this tea is different: the water should be at about 80–85 °C (176–185 °F), and a brewing time of 3–5 minutes is recommended, depending on desired strength
