Description
  • Single Origin Sencha from Kagoshima - Volcanic Tea
  • Charcoal-fire finished sencha from Miyazaki, Kyushu
  • Slowly roasted over binchotan charcoal for a deep, robust aroma and lingering finish
  • Extremely rare and precious tea - very limited quantities are produced every year
  • Family business spanning several generations
  • Craft tea farm in Japan's southern Island of Kyushu

炭烈火 (Sumirekka) is a traditional charcoal-roasted sencha carefully finished using binchotan charcoal, a demanding process in which skilled tea artisans control the heat by watching the color and aroma of the leaves.  This labor-intensive roasting method creates a powerful, smoky fragrance and a deep aftertaste that is unique to charcoal-finished teas.

Because it comes in a compact 25 g bag, this tea is perfect as a small gift or souvenir, or for those who want to discover the rich world of Japanese charcoal-roasted green tea.

How to use:
Infuse 3 g in 150 ml of hot water (around 90°c) for 40–60 seconds to highlight the aromatic roasted notes

Remarks: Due to US custom restrictions on food items, this product is currently unavailable for clients living in United States.

Contains 25 grams

Made in Miyakonojo, Miyazaki in Japan's southern Volcanic Island of Kyushu
