Tsu Good is a nail file for children and parents alike. The name includes the words "Tsume Good" meaning "for good nails" and "Tsugu" meaning "to inherit" from the tradition of a file shop that has been in business in Tsubame for over 100 years.
Children grow day by day. The time when parents can take care of their children's nails may seem long, but it may pass in the blink of an eye. Children will be able to take care of their nails by themselves when they are in the lower to middle grades of elementary school. Nail files do not damage the skin, so they are safe for children to use on their own. Teaching children how to take care of their nails is also a form of physical contact, and is an important step in the process of children growing up.
That is why our files must not be disposable or wear out quickly, but rather be products that can be used for a long time and that do not lose their quality.
Nail files are made from a thin stainless steel plate, about 1mm thick. Each blade of the nail file is sharpened by hammering a piece of steel called a "chisel." This process of sharpening the blade is called "sharpening."
The craftsman sharpens the file, adjusts the strength of the sharpening machine, and drives the file blade into the stainless steel plate at equal intervals. The stainless steel is sharpened three times, diagonally left and right and horizontally (three-stage sharpening), and this is done a total of six times on both sides.
