The name comes from its silhouette — rounded and full through the hips and hem, refined slowly on the loom until the shape felt right.

The fit is loose and relaxed through the body, but narrows at the hem, so despite the volume it stays easy to dress up or down. The waist is adjustable with a drawstring and elastic, which doubles as a design detail rather than just a practical fix. Lightweight and easy to move in, it pairs well with sandals or sneakers.

Woven entirely from cotton using the region's signature saki-zome method — dyeing the yarn before it's woven — a technique that traces back to the late 1700s in Nishiwaki City, Hyogo. The yarn is woven in varying shades, so the rounded, three-dimensional cut brings out the texture of the fabric, and the striped paneling shifts naturally as you move. Despite the sturdy weave, it stays light to wear, so it works across seasons. Because each piece is dyed and woven by hand in small batches, no two pairs are ever exactly alike.
