Since thier founding in 1925 in Kagoshima Prefecture, which has the largest bamboo forest area in Japan, they have been manufacturing products using local bamboo. Kagoshima's climate and soil are ideal for growing high-quality bamboo. Taking advantage of its characteristics of flexibility, strength, and shape, and to propose ways to create a relaxing bamboo lifestyle.

These handmade bamboo pieces from Japan are increasingly rare, as much of the production has shifted to other parts of Asia. Very few bamboo artisans can still make a living from this traditional craft, so we ensure their time and labour are fairly compensated. Japanese bamboo also has a naturally thicker, denser structure than many other varieties, which makes these pieces especially durable and long‑lasting.

Made in Kagoshima in a small village that was famously built by samurai.
