- 500ml bottle of sweet potato shochu
- To be enjoyed straight or on the rocks
- As an accompaniment to a meal, it goes wonderfully with roast pork, veal cutlets, grilled sausages, fried fish or even oysters
Produced by Maison Takara Shuzo, Ikkomon Aka is a rare shōchū because it is entirely brewed with sweet potatoes with light red skin (aka-imo) harvested in the Kagoshima region, and fermented with a specific must aka-imo koji (koji from sweet potato) instead of a commonly used rice koji.
Resulting from a simple distillation retaining all the smoothness of the texture, Ikkomon Aka expresses an aromatic profile with floral notes and can be enjoyed neat or with a small ice cube, but also lengthened with sparkling water or as the base of a cocktail.
