Kenzan has a nice nose, rather expressive for a sake in its category. Lactic and fruity notes, on orange and apple. It is clean and smooth on the palate, before evolving into warmer and spicy notes. We find the lactic component, underlined by a beautiful bitterness.
Very popular in Ishikawa Prefecture, Kenzan is a real thirst-quenching sake, which goes without tiring with preparations such as izakya, smoked, dried fish, and salted "otsumami". Also to be served on a family and generous cuisine, dishes in sauces, spicy dishes, sweet and savory.
