Using six-row barley from the local area of Kokufu-cho, Hida Takayama (Gifu Prefecture), the fragrance is carefully finished in amber by a sand roasting method, which is the signature product of Nabeshima Meicha.
Barley used for this tea is characterised by its large size and sweetness. The roasting takes takes its time in a sand drum-shaped machine to carefully add a rich aroma to each grain. The way the rich aroma spreads after drinking is also a big attraction of "Hida Mugicha".
Best ways to drink and steep Hida Barley Tea (Grain):
Add 25g to 30g of into 2L of boiled water and simmer for 3 minutes. Turn off the heat, cover and steam for 30 minutes. Strain the wheat and transfer it to the pot. Grains may remain, so please strain it with a fine-textured strainer.
