Gassan Washi, the hand-made Japanese paper)
Gassan-Washi is made in Nishikawa-cho, at the foot of Mt. Gassan (One of the three holy Dewa mountains).
It has 400 years of history and was an indispensable product for the Dewa mountain worshipers as it was used to make Shoji (Paper doors) as well as for religious rituals.
We have inherited these skills and hand make every single sheet of paper to maintain the highest quality. We wish to preserve this tradition in order to bring the joy of using Gassan-Washi to people's every day lives.
